Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
